Aurelia Talvela

As a Senior Consultant on our Canadian team, Aurelia brings passion for social change and her critical thinking skills to all projects she works on. 

Originally from Finland, Aurelia studied and worked in several places in Europe before landing in Montréal in Québec, Canada. During her Master’s Degree studies at Concordia University, she specialized in the representation of marginalized communities in the Canadian media by drawing on critical race theory and intersectionality. Following her academic years, Aurelia has worked in the Canadian Social Sector with both Social Purpose businesses such as B Corps as well as many not-for-profit organizations, including charities and foundations. Aurelia is trilingual, being fully fluent in English, French and Finnish. 

Aurelia has led numerous not-for-profit and mission-driven organizations through strategic planning, governance audits, stakeholder consultations, communications strategies and various impact initiatives. She has joined forces with Junxion to help accelerate the shift towards the purpose economy and guide organizations to have more positive impact on all their stakeholders. 

Aurelia is also a leader in the B Corp community and spearheaded the formalization of the not-for-profit organization B Local Québec, a membership association bringing together Québec’s B Corps and other actors who share the values of the movement. She currently serves as the President of the Board. 

In her off-time, she is enjoying time with her partner and two dogs in Montréal while always planning the next trip ahead.
