Meriko Kubota is a thought leader and visionary in driving social purpose and value propositions for organizations.
She helps organizations to develop their social purpose, align their corporate social responsibility strategies with their purpose, and develop metrics and reporting to measure social impact.
Meriko has over a decade of experience in business strategy, marketing and communications, brand engagement, corporate social responsibility, community investment, sponsorship marketing, and philanthropy.
She holds a Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Arts from University of British Columbia. She was formerly the Director of Sponsorship Marketing and Community Investment at Mountain Equipment Coop, where she developed their corporate social responsibility strategy to align with MEC’s purpose. Prior to her work at MEC, Meriko was the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Community Investment at TELUS and Manager of Grants & Special Projects for the Vancouver Foundation.
Her early work was in international development as the International Internship Manager for the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability at UBC, where she managed contracts for the Canadian Water Network and the Canadian International Development Agency.
Meriko sits on the Board of Directors of Greenpeace Canada.
She makes her home on the majestic Sunshine Coast, to the west of Vancouver, with her husband and their young family.
